ARChoices in Homecare Medicaid Waiver

The ARChoices in Homecare program is a Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waiver that helps eligible Arkansas seniors and adults with physical disabilities stay independent in their homes or communities instead of moving to a nursing home.

To qualify, individuals must:

  • Be 21–64 with a physical disability or 65 and older.

  • Meet Medicaid income and asset limits.

  • Require an intermediate level of care (like that provided in a nursing home).

  • Have a need for at least one covered service.

Services available under ARChoices include:

  • Attendant care (help with bathing, dressing, meals, etc.)

  • Home-delivered meals

  • Adult day services

  • Adult day health services (including skilled nursing)

  • Respite care (to give family caregivers a break)

  • Environmental modifications (like ramps or grab bars)

  • Personal emergency response systems (PERS)

  • Case management and personalized care plans
